Title How is an audio history recorded?
FAQ ID F00000003
Last Update Wed Apr 2006
Description Personal histories have been etched on rocks, inked onto papyrus, written and typed on paper, and compiled in computers. How is an audio history recorded.
Solution Audio histories benefit from the improvements in recording technology as well. A generation ago we recorded the voice on magnetic tape and hoped it would last. Now we use digital audio recorders and "burn" this permanently onto Compact Disc (CD) media. This digital format makes the perfect storage medium.
